Bridal Headpieces

Selecting bridal headpieces that will accentuate the bride’s overall appearance is as important as selecting the wedding gown. All bridal accessories are important, but bridal headpieces need to enhance the gown’s beauty and the overall appearance of the bride. The perfect bridal headpiece will turn a beautiful bridal dress into an exquisite regal gown. When selecting a bridal headpiece there are a few things to consider, of which a most important one is how you intend on wearing your hair on the big day.

Bridal Headpieces and Hairstyles

How you choose to wear your hair is essential in selecting the perfect veil and bridal headpiece. Some people say that the hair is more important than the bridal veil and headpiece and consequently, they are simply content to wear a basic veil that can immediately be removed after the ceremony. Others believe that wearing the wedding veil throughout the ceremony and reception is just as important as everything else. Whether or not you intend on taking your wedding veil off immediately after the ceremony, you should ensure that your headpiece and your hairstyle compliment each other.

If you intend on wearing your hair up in some sort of bun, your best choice is a heavy bridal headpiece with a long veil. If you plan on wearing your hair half up and partly down, then you should select a headpiece of moderate weight and at least an elbow length bridal veil. For those of you who plan on wearing your hair down, then the only thing to consider when choosing a headpiece and veil is its placement on your head, as just about any headpiece and veil should look good.

When trying on bridal headpieces, you should have your hair styled in the same way that you will be wearing it on the big day. This way you will be able to determine if you should choose a veil that will be attached to the front of your head or one that is further back. If you have short hair, generally the best option is to select a headpiece and wedding veil that is more toward the front of the head. For those of you who have long hair and will be wearing it down, you should select a headpiece that compliments your hairstyle and one that will not hide your elaborate up-do, thereby ensuring that the veil placement is further toward the back of your head.

Happy wedding, Cindy and Lenna.
